Course Description:

This course focuses on the DSM-5 criteria for PTSD, with interventions provided that correspond to the criteria used in counseling, psychology, social work and therapy for the diagnosis and treatment of PTSD.

Course Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course the professional will be able to: 

1.) Use the DMS-5 criteria to diagnose and evaluate PTSD

2.)  Understand disaster syndrome, emotional and community responses to events where PTSD is likely to emerge following life changing events.

3.) Create treatment plans that focus on client strengths and resources

4.) Make appropriate referrals and use professional resources to support client care
